Cost drivers

Construction and illumination

Return depth, face material, trim style, lighting type, driver placement and mounting method change both fabrication effort and electrical handoff.

Installed versus factory-only scope

A factory price is not the same as an installed price. Ask whether patterns, raceways, permits, site surveys, electrical work, freight and installation are included.

Common exclusions

  • Permits, planning approvals and landlord approvals.
  • Electrical feeds, isolation, site wiring and final connection.
  • Site surveys, structural engineering and access equipment.
  • Freight, customs, taxes, installation and repair after freight damage unless the quote names them.
